Connection is the secret ingredient

I will be the first person to admit that I have a small addiction to my phone and to social media. It’s the first thing I do when my husband pauses the show we are watching to go make a cup of tea, is to get out my phone and quickly check if someone out there loves me enough to like a photo, follow my account or even send me a DM for that real sweet but really short dopamine hit.
What makes me stop the scrolling, unclench and just sit in the moment?
There is a long list but right at the top is just a good ol fashioned face to face chat with someone who is equally as invested and present in the conversation.

Since COVID the world of consultations and advice has gone almost completely online. As a mother, I recently enlisted the help from a sleep consultant (oh the woes of the first year of sleep) and I was quite surprised that not one aspect of the consultation involved coming to my house to see where the culprit (child number 2) slept and lived, and they only lived 10 minutes away.
As someone who could literally chat for hours and stayed in a job that was not really where I wanted to be, purely for the awesome connection and chat culture, I made a decision to centre Very Hungry Nutrition around the home – your home actually.

There are many reasons why we eat the way we do, but at the heart of many lifestyles that sit in a place where nourishing your body is not top priority is usually our home, our family and our closest connections.
Food is not just a quantity of fats, protein and carbs sitting in your stomach, food is memories, it is fuel, it is medicine, it is poison, it is distraction, it is love and it is hate. There is so much behind the decisions surrounding the way you eat and I want to be there to take the time to learn about it whilst letting your home quietly (or not so quietly in some houses) tell the other parts of the story.
